Greetings! I’m Carl Ferguson, your Resident Board Vice-President. Katherine and I have lived at LVE for three years now—which, compared with many of you, surely still makes us newcomers!
But three years has been long enough to discover something important:
It isn’t the walls, the carpet, or the buildings that make LVE our home. It is the people.
It is each of you—the friends and neighbors we see in the hallways, dining rooms, gym, pool, activity rooms, on the walking paths … and in all the countless places where our lives intersect every day.
And then there is our staff.
Over time, something rather wonderful happens. Someone who was once simply a face becomes a name. A name becomes someone we know. And, very often, that person becomes a friend—someone we trust, someone who knows us, someone we know will be there when we need them.
That is what our new Embracing Community logo represents.
Look closely at it. Residents and staff are not separate parts of the picture. We are gathered together around its heart—because community is something all of us create together.
So, during the months ahead, I hope you will join us as we celebrate the remarkable people who serve LVE every day. We will introduce you to them, tell some of their stories, and remind ourselves of the many ways they enrich our lives.
Because, in the end, that simple message says it all:
Together, we make LVE our home.
All of us.
